“What we actually have here is a fundamental difference of opinion as to what the purpose of music is,” Cave writes.
“As long as the Israeli government commits war crimes against the Palestinian people we support their call for a boycott of Israel as a means of peaceful protest against the brutal occupation,” the band says in a statement.
Stern’s profanity-laden rant against the pop singer asks why she’ll play in Russia, but not Israel.
The singer scrapped the performance citing the country’s mistreatment of Palestine.
“I’m not too proud to admit I didn’t make the right call on this one.”
