Each member of Metallica penned a tribute to Ray Burton, the beloved father of late bassist Cliff Burton.
The news of Ray Burton’s death was reported by his daughter, and Cliff’s sister, Connie.
The bassist died at the age of 24 when Metallica’s tour bus skidded off the road on September 27th, 1986.
On July 25th, 1983, Metallica unleashed their debut album, “Kill ‘Em All”, a landmark disc that would help usher in the thrash metal scene.
The show took place March 5th, 1983, at The Stone in San Francisco.
The latest bassist would have been 58 years old this month.
The proclomation came in response to a fan petition.
