Regina Spektor, The Shins perform on A Prairie Home Companion — listen

The latest episode of A Prairie Home Companion welcomed Regina Spektor and The Shins as musical guests.

Supporting her latest album, Remember Us to Life, Spektor performed “Grand Hotel”, “Older and Taller”, and “The Trapper and the Furrier”. She also dusted off her classic track, “Samson”.

The Shins previewed their upcoming fifth album, Heartworms, by debuting “Name For You” and “The Fear”. They also performed “Gone For Good” and “St. Simon” from their 2003 album, Chutes Too Narrow,

Near the end of the episode, Spektor and The Shins’ James Mercer joined host Chris Thile in performing the traditional Appalachian folk song, “In the Pines”.
