The Killers announce Christmas album, share “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” cover — listen

on November 18, 2016, 10:40am

For the last 10 years, The Killers have issued a Christmas single. There’s been “Joel the Lump of Coal”, “I Feel It In My Bones”, and even the Owen Wilson-approved “Christmas in LA”. Now, the Las Vegas outfit has collected all those tracks, plus a brand new cover of the Bing Crosby classic “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”, for a holiday album called Don’t Waste Your Wishes. The project will benefit (RED), the Bono-co-founded charity that works to eradicate AIDS in Africa.

Ahead of its November 18th digital release (December 9th on CD), The Killers have let loose their rendition of “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”. The take features a spoken word intro from frontman Brandon Flowers as well as contributions from his fourth grade teacher Ned Humphrey Hansen; Flowers credits Hansen with teaching him about the holiday song (aww, I know).

Check it out below.
