Last month, Bob Weir unveiled Blue Mountain, his first solo LP in a decade. The former Grateful Dead member celebrated the record last night by performing one of its highlights, “Lay My Lily Down”, on the Late Show.
Though he’s recently appeared on late-night TV as part of Dead and Company, Weir showed that, even after years, he can easily command the attention of an audience all by himself. The veteran rocker — his solid black blazer a nice contrast to his greying beard — was accompanied onstage by members of The National, including Aaron Dessner and Bryan and Scott Devendorf (Aaron and brother Bryce contributed to Blue Mountain).
