The Day of the Dead is fast approaching and The A.V. Club are celebrating with special editions of their A.V. Undercover series, in which they focus on artists that’ve recently passed on from this life. The one and only David Bowie is the man of the hour on this week’s episode, and Phoenix folk punk outfit AJJ remembered him by taking on his 1971 cut “Quicksand”. According to one of the band members, the Honky Dory selection is what initially hooked him to Bowie’s catalog.

Watch their heartfelt performance below.

AJJ have also been known to cover the Bowie classic “Ziggy Stardust” live. The band’s new album, The Bible 2, is out now.

In related news, two of Bowie’s final recordings were released today.
