Back in March, Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony Tiffith hinted that the label had some big plans in the works for the new year. “Shit about to get nasty real soon … I told y’all I got y’all in 2016,” he wrote on Instagram. So far, he’s followed through on his word, what with the acclaimed projects from Kendrick Lamar (untitled unmastered.), ScHoolboy Q (Blank Face LP), and Isaiah Rashad (The Sun’s Tirade).

The next artist on TDE’s prolific release schedule appears to be Ab-Soul, who today put out a new song called “Huey Knew”. Though he’s featured on a number of tracks this year — most recently Danny Brown’s knockout posse cut “Really Doe” alongside King Kendrick and Earl Sweatshirt — this marks his first original cut in two years. Over an eerie, smoke-filled production, Soulo rhymes about blunts, name-drops ASAP Mob, and delivers a shout-out to the coolest POTUS ever, saying, “I hope I’m in Obama’s iPod.”

Above, check out “Huey Knew”, which also features Dash. Ab-Soul’s last album was 2014’s These Days.
