Angel Olsen, the appropriately name indie artist with the voice of an angel, has just shared a new song titled “Intern” and an accompanying music video.
There’s little information on the project as of now, other than that the visual was written and directed by Olsen and includes collaborative input from Ashley Connor and Jethro Waters. Stereogum reports the song is off an upcoming album titled My Woman. That’s right, a new album.
The artist tweeted the video soon after her label did, saying, “Made you something.”
In the clip, Olsen dons a silvery tinsel wig (only further instilling her angelic aura) and sings that we all, herself included, “have to wake up and be someone.” She goes on to deliver the ultimate kiss-off, “I don’t care what the papers say/It’s just another intern with a resume,” before staring into the camera to declare, “I’m gonna fall in love with you someday.”
Following her third and most recent record, 2014’s highly praised Burn Your Fire For No Witness, Olsen has contributed to The National’s massive Grateful Dead tribute with her own rendition of “Attics of My Life”. It was also recently revealed that she will be featured on Cass McCombs’ upcoming album, Mangy Love.
