Will Ferrell and Chad Smith may be real-life doppelgängers, but they’re also fierce rivals behind the kit. Back in 2014, The Tonight Show held a drum-off between the two, with Will Ferrell claiming victory. Last night, they agreed to a rematch as part of a Quinceanera they held in Los Angeles. This time around, however, they assembled teams to go to war on their behalf.
Smith’s team consisted of Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins, Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee, and The Police’s Stewart Copeland. Ferrell countered with Fred Armisen, Fleetwood Mac’s Mick Fleetwood, and the USC marching band.
Watch it all unfold below.
Proceeds from the Quinceanera benefited Cancer For College and the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, a non-profit organization founded by Smith’s Red Hot Chili Peppers bandmate Flea.
