Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat challenge Pearl Jam to basketball game

on March 29, 2016, 12:05pm

On April 9th, Pearl Jam will perform in Miami as part of their 2016 tour. But delivering face-melting rock ‘n’ roll might not be the only thing they’ll do in the AmericanAirlines Arena, as the city’s own basketball team, the Miami Heat, have issued the band a challenge.

In a video posted to the Heat’s Facebook page (via Alternative Nation), star shooting guard Dwayne Wade offers Eddie Vedder and the band the keys to AmericanAirlines Arena. “Any time you and the band Pearl Jam want to come and shoot hoops, you got the key,” Wade says in the clip. “See you guys in April.”

Vedder’s known more as a baseball fan than a basketball one, though as Win Butler can attest, the band is more than capable of holding their own on the court. Perhaps they can break Mookie Blaylock out of jail for their showdown against the Heat.
