DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. pulled back the curtain on their upcoming film slate during the DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League special on The CW this evening. Following the premiere of a new Suicide Squad trailer, fans get an early peek at the upcoming Wonder Woman solo film.
In addition to revealing the official film logo, the preview shows plenty of clips of Diana Prince in action. The rumored World War I setting is confirmed as we see Wonder Woman do battle with soldiers in period garb. Explaining why WW decides to enter the war herself, show host and DC Comics’ CCO Geoff Johns says, “These Amazons were once created to protect man’s world, but they’ve since abandoned it. Diana is asking constantly, ‘Why don’t we go do what we were created to do and protect man?’ And they say, ‘Because they’re not worth it.'” Determined to see the truth first hand, “the best fighter in the DC Universe” enters our world. She also rides horses a lot.
After Gadot debuts as the character in March’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman will hit screens on June 23rd, 2017.
