Foo Fighters bring out Jewel for cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love” — watch

It’s almost like Foo Fighters have been playing a game of ones-upmanship with Taylor Swift on their recent tour. While T-Swift is known to bring out famous faces to mostly stand near her on stage, Dave Grohl and the boys have welcomed HAIM and Stevie Nicksmembers of Pearl Jam and Blind Melon, Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones and Queen’s Roger Taylor, and Grohl’s own doctor to rip into some songs. At a gig in Phoenix, Arizona on Friday, the Foo’s welcomed perhaps their most surprising guest yet when none other than Jewel took the stage.

As Grohl himself put it, “What?!”

Grohl said after meeting in San Diego, the two decided to do a song together. He joked that they “picked some nice thing that we thought would sound good,” but Jewel had another idea in mind. With that, they went into Led Zeppelin’s iconic “Whole Lotta Love”, with Jewel reaching high to do her best Robert Plant. Check out crowd-shot video of the performance below.
