Wavves offshoot Sweet Valley and GZA team for new song “Planetary Energy” — listen

on July 10, 2015, 2:09pm

Between Wavves’ recent collaborative album with Cloud Nothings and new side project Spirit Club, Nathan Williams has been on an absolute tear. Somehow, he’s managed to squeeze in enough time to work on Sweet Valley, his electronic venture with brother Kynan Williams.

Today, Sweet Valley has let loose “Planetary Energy”, a new song featuring bars from Wu-Tang Clan’s own GZA. The trip-hop cut, marked by woozy intergalactic sound effects and a swaggering rhythm, can be streamed below.

“Planetary Energy” is taken from Converse’s Cons EP Vol. 3, which brings together artists from various genres. Previously, Hanni El Khatib and Freddie Gibbs linked up on “Satin Black”.
