Puppet versions of Tame Impala star in “‘Cause I’m a Man” video — watch

on May 29, 2015, 12:45am

Just last week, Tame Impala released the computer animated video for their single “‘Cause I’m a Man”, and now they’re back with a live take. Well, sort of. Though prominently labeled as the “Official Live Video,” the clip actually features puppet versions of the band members performing as projected light dances across their felt-formed bodies. It’s actually a damn fine recreation of what the band looks like live, from the psychedelic colors to guitarist/keyboardist Dominic Simper’s barely-there facial hair and his serious-eyed stare. Puppet Kevin Parker even wears his trademark scarf and has to brush those long locks away from his eyes.

To heck with that other clip, this thing shall be heretofore forever considered the true “‘Cause I’m a Man” video. Check it out:

The track is one of the latest release from Currents, the follow-up to 2012’s Lonerism due out July 17th. You can also listen to “Eventually” and “Let It Happen”.
