Nick Diamonds shares new track “Witch Window” — listen

on April 14, 2015, 4:20pm

After touring with Islands, reuniting The Unicorns, and scoring for the hit podcast Serial, Nick Thorburn is spending 2015 focusing on himself. He’ll release City of Quartza new LP under his solo Nick Diamonds moniker, this June 16th via his own Manque Music. While the first listen of the record came in the darkly wrapped “The Sting”, the latest sample is a far lighter affair.

“Witch Window” bubbles up on the back of some reverbing synths, colliding with an animated rhythm that begs the listener to step forward. The aural platform maintains the perfect buoyancy for Diamonds’ lyrical themes of dusting yourself off and embracing the world. “These wounds do not reflect my suffering today,” he sings. “They are a triumph against death and decay.” Take a listen below.

The album was originally scheduled for a May 26th release, but has been pushed back to the June date. Pre-orders are ongoing.
