Van Halen, with singer David Lee Roth, make US TV debut on Jimmy Kimmel — watch

on March 31, 2015, 10:15am

It’s hard to imagine a band that’s been around for over 40 years has many milestones left to cross, but somehow Van Halen skipped one. The band has performed on television before, but never before with founding frontman David Lee Roth at the mic. Last night, however, that all changed as Van Halen shut down Hollywood Boulevard for the first of two consecutive late-night appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

With Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen, and 24-year-old bassist Wolfgang Van Halen behind him, Roth kicked and gyrated like his young self through renditions of “Panama” and “Runnin’ with the Devil”. Check out the replay ahead.

The Kimmel performance comes in support of Van Halen’s first-ever live album featuring Roth, Tokyo Dome Live in Concert, due out March 31st. Meanwhile, in July, the band will embark on its first North American tour in three years.
