Cass McCombs and Meat Puppets announce split 7-inch, stream two songs now

on August 27, 2014, 12:49pm

To coincide with the launch of their co-headlining US tour, Cass McCombs and Meat Puppets have announced the release of a split 7-inch single.

Due out October 28th via Domino Records, Cass McCombs vs. Meat Puppets includes two brand new McCombs originals, “Night Of The World” and “Evangeline”, alongside the Puppets’ covers of “Cathy’s Clown” by the Everly Brothers and “(Hey Baby) Que Paso” by Texas Tornados. That’s the album artwork above, handrawn by Meat Puppets bassist Cris Kirkwood.

For a taste of how McCombs and Meat Puppets stack up together, check out the slightly jazzy, slightly funky “Night Of the World” followed by the Puppets’ rip-roaring take on “(Hey Baby) Que Paso”.
