With her single “Trouble’s Lament”, singer Tori Amos “personified Trouble into a woman”, one who’s left her lover Satan in search of a new place to lay her head. In the song’s accompanying music video, Amos expands on that metaphor with a kind of Lynchian charm. Here, three troubled, desperate young women all meet at the crossroads (in this tale, a local diner) as they each attempt to escape their respective “devil” (represented by a couple of businessmen). Without spoiling the ending, let’s just say everything pretty much turns out hunky-dory for our heroines. Oh, and just wait until see you Amos rocking some sweet driving gloves.
