Check Out: Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig covers Paul Simon's "Papa Hobo"

on April 07, 2011, 12:10am

As if comparing Vampire Weekend to the legendary Paul Simon wasn’t already easy enough, Vampy Weeks frontman Ezra Koenig goes and covers the iconic singer-songwriter’s “Papa Hobo” off his 1972 effort, Paul Simon. The track is a part of the soundtrack to the Uma Thurman-featuring, Max Winkler-directed film, Ceremony, in which a young man interrupts the wedding ceremony of an older woman (here’s to you, Mrs. Robinson). The soundtrack was curated by Fruit Bats’ Eric Johnson and also includes contributions from Ringo Starr, Pete Townshend, and Van Dyke Parks.

Ceremony hits theaters April 8th, with the soundtrack following on April 12th. Below, find a stream of Koenig’s cover as well as the soundtrack’s tracklist (via P4k).
