Along with Scenes From the Suburbs, Arcade Fire fans have another film to look forward to in the months ahead. As FACT reports, the band will soon head to Haiti for a series of live performances, which will be documented by photographer/filmmaker Leah Gordon. The end result will be a “DVD release expected to see the light of day later in 2011.”
As Arcade Fire fan site Us Kids Know points out, Gordon is perhaps best known for Kanaval, a book dedicated to the Haitian carnival culture. The band also has a rather close relationship with the country: founding member Régine Chassagne is of Haitian descent, and in 2010, the band helped raise a million dollars for the country in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake.
