Kid Cudi and Weezer join forces on Steve Aoki album

on April 12, 2010, 9:05am

Last we wrote of Kid Cudi, he was punching people in the face and touting his new album of collaborations. And the last we wrote of Weezer (other than some festival appearances), the guys were working through some “Daddy” issues. So, clearly the two might be too busy to collaborate on their own, despite how amazing/interesting that may be. But if there’s one man who can bring them together on the same album, it’s superstar DJ Steve Aoki.

Aoki, in an interview with MTV (via Spin), said that he had managed to nab not only Weezer and Cudi, but the likes of Black Star and Zuper Blahq, the nom de plume of Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am for his upcoming album. If you couldn’t already tell by the list of collaborators, Aoki’s going for a unique mix of sounds.

“I’m doing a couple of different tracks with some familiar voices,” Aoki said. “Just mixing it up with some hip-hop vocals, rock vocals, house vocals. So yeah, it should be interesting.”

While no further details have been released, enjoy Aoki’s track with Zuper Blahq, a track called “I’m In The House”, below. As always, we’ll keep you in the loop.
