Stone Temple Pilots look ahead to 2010, plan new album & world tour

on November 01, 2009, 12:00pm

“There’s more to be revealed and more to be told, the story’s not finished… When we finish the album, there will be a big tour around its release and that will probably be a long tour,” explained Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland regarding his band’s forthcoming plans in a newly published interview with Rolling Stone.

Yes, folks, not only are Weiland and Co. still together following their 2008 reunion, but they’re actually living up to their previous promise of a new studio album.

Details still remain a bit sketchy, but the band plans to hit the studio in early 2010, following the remaining dates of its currently ongoing North American tour. Back in May, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that STP has written 18 songs and will team up with Producer Don Was for the album, which of course will mark the band’s first new release since 2001’s Shangri-La Dee Da.
